About Cyclist No.1
What is Cyclist No.1?
Our goal: to put out free, exclusive online content that not only rivals but even surpasses traditional media offerings.
Cyclist No.1 is a mountain biking website and is the brainchild of Bristol-based web designer, long-time mountain biker, and CTC-qualified trail leader Gary Lake. Cyclist No.1 came about through Gary's desire to put his 10+ years in online media and 15+ years of riding experience into improving online coverage of mountain biking. Gary's aim is to inject new life into cycling media and to find/develop fresh journalistic blood.
So who's it for?
Anyone with an interest in cycling will enjoy Cyclist No.1. It's primarily written for and by mountain bikers but, like most of them, our interest spreads beyond knobbly tyres and riding in mud. Content-wise you will mainly find an MTB-bias to our coverage, but it's certainly not limited to it.
What can I expect to find here?
Cyclist No.1 contains gear reviews and a range of features focusing on rides, racing/events, technique, bike maintenance and more. We also have a blog and commentary from our staff and contributors.
Not for profit... what's the deal?
Rather than being profit-driven, the aim of Cyclist No.1 is to benefit the cycling community.
Cyclist No.1 aims to:
- Provide the best impartial, online resource for cyclists we can
- Find and develop new journalistic talent and bring a new insight to cycling related media.
- To give any would-be profits to good causes and projects (cycling related or otherwise).
