2011 Marzocchi 29ers
Marzocchi are back in the 29er market since a brief foray back in 2002 producing a fork for Gary Fisher. With 29ers now the mainstream Marzocchi are back with two new forks, the Forty Four Micro Ti (44 Micro Ti) and the Forty Four TST2 (44 TST2).
The 26" 44 is Marzocchi's allrounder trail/all-mountain fork and has been used as the basis for these new 29er forks. The leg lowers have been recast for 29" so expect the usual flared lowers which blend into the 'M' brace.
Both forks are 120mm out-of-the-box but can be adjusted internally to 100mm or 140mm.
The Micro Ti features the same technology as previous Micro Ti models with Air preload and a Ti coil controlling rebound. Though Marzocchi point out that the system has been completely redesigned for 2011. The Micro Ti is available in 'must-have' White only and comes only with a 15QR axle. Weight is a slightly portly (compared to the new Reba 29er 140mm) 2035g inc axle. The price is £599 and they're available from October.
The cheaper and simpler TST2 uses a single all new damper to take care of rebound and lockout duties while a single-valve low-pressure air spring (with negative spring) to take care of compression duties, and keeping things supple and easy to setup. Like the Micro Ti, colour is also White only, 15QR axle only and available in October. Weight comes in a little higher at 2250g but the price is a more wallet friendly £339.
