Labyrinth Bikes come to the UK

UK distributors Windwave have just informed us of their deal to bring small French MTB brand Labyrinth to the UK. Sporting Marzocchi (another Windwave brand) shocks front and rear, Labyrinth should sit well in their portfolio of brands.

Founded in 1991 in the Le Vosges mountain range, mid-east France, Labyrinth is a rider owned company claiming to produce suspension bikes based around a unique new type of shock linkage called the "Adapt link".

It's another variation on the linkage driven single pivot and claims to give very sensitive small bump response, be very linear in the middle to help "isolate the pedal action from the shock", and be very progressive in the final part of the stroke to give a "bottomless feel".

We've only got details on a 6" AM/Enduro bike called the Agile. With 150mm of rear wheel travel being driven by Marzocchi Roco Lo rear shock, suitable for 140mm to 160mm forks, a claimed frame weight of 7.5lbs, and a frame only price of £1399 - the initial numbers at least add up.

Add in ISCG 05 tabs for chain device and Hammerschmidt use, guides for a remote dropper seatpost, a descent friendly head angle of 67 degrees (160mm fork) and tyre clearance for up to 2.7s - it all looks quite promising on paper!

The materials sent to use by Windwave also featured a picture of a rather tidy looking DH frame called the Minotaur, so we expect news of more bikes in the range to come at some point soon.

The range, complete with 2011 Marzocchi forks and shocks, will be available to demo at BikeRadar live on the 10th and 11th of July.
